A Tree Transformation
By Danny Schillizzi
I'm a tree in the city and it's kind of a pity,
But at times my life has not been pretty.
I've seen burning hot sidewalks, buildings covered with dust.
I've seen people choke on too much smoke and leave the city in disgust.
As I've grown older, the city's grown bolder and planted trees everywhere.
Business is booming, flowers are blooming, and people seem happier here.
It was someone's dream, just a thought, a little scheme
But it made things better all around.
I'm a tree in the city, and my life is now pretty
Since they have planted trees downtown.
